Test & Tag

Test and tag is the procedure for checking the safety of electrical appliances.

Employers have a duty of care under the Occupational Health and Safety Act to provide a safe workplace.

Electrical testing of appliances in accordance with AS3760:2010 (In-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment) is an essential component of ensuring electrical safety in the workplace.

The Safe Work Australia Model Code of Practice – Managing Electrical Risks in the Workplace states that electrical equipment used in high risk environments must be tested and tagged and items in non-hostile environments should be tested in accordance with the testing intervals in Table 4 in AS3760:2010

Visual testing is followed by testing for Insulation Resistance, Current Leakage, Polarity and Earth Resistance.

Comprehensive test results are digitally recorded and test reports provided to our customers with back up records kept by  for a seven year period.

A tamper proof PVC printed tag with test date, retest date, Technician ID, test result and asset identification barcode is applied to the lead of the appliance.

 technicians have WorkCover Blue and White accreditation cards for workplace site access where required.
